The Auraria Higher Education Center (AHEC) devoted student fees to fund the building of two bike storage facilities strategically placed on the campus’ major thoroughfares. In 2019, the Colorado Building Workshop (composed of students and faculty from the University of Colorado - M.ARCH program) completed the all phases of design and construction of two bike storage facilities utilizing core principles of Sustainability, Security, and Utilization. Schematic designs, construction detailing, Life Cycle Assessment for building materials, and the physical construction were accomplished through team effort.
